Less Risky Behavior – Eating or Petting
This week has brought startling news coverage concerning dogs. The first incident McDonald’s pulled an ad that spotlighted eating a Chicken McBite was less risky than petting a stray pit bull. This enraged pit bull owners and their supporters to the point where McDonald’s apologized and took down the ad, an ad that only ran locally.
Do you think this action on the part of McDonald’s was offensive and reckless? Was it enough that McDonald’s apologized and pulled the ad, but should they have also provided a donation to Pit Bull Rescue?

Feel Good Moment Goes Bad When Dog Bites Local Anchorwoman
In a terrible scene that unfolded on local television, a guest star of the morning show bit the morning show host in the face. The guest star was an Argentine Mastiff that firefighters had rescued the day before, being pulled from the ice on a lake. It was supposed to be a feel good moment between the dog, rescuer and the audience when it went terribly wrong. The anchor got down on the floor to get closer to the dog and was holding the dogs face, whether she was trying to be cute or get the dog to lick her face, was in actuality making a threatening gesture to the dog and he reacted by biting her in the face. The three- year old mastiff is in “quarantine” at a local animal shelter.
