German Shepherds dogs are notorious for shedding their winter coat of hair and I am no exception. I am dropping air all over the place and it is flying into the corners of the yard. The birds then pick it up and add it to the nests they are building. I hope it keeps them warm like it did for me.
Mom is great and brushes me about every other day and there seems to be no end to the hair. I never want the brushing to end as I really enjoy it. I will continue to shed for about three more weeks and then my coat will be shiny and a little thinner for all that hot summer weather.
*Do you shed all over your human’s house?
This post is part of a Mischief Monday Blog Hop!

When I lost my winter coat it was EVERYWHERE bol. No one could believe how much came out of me. I thought the Misaki-coloured carpet was rather nice…:-)
Black hair doesn’t look so good on light colored carpet.
Mom refers to them more as hair explosions. Hair literally poofs out into the air in huge amounts. With two of us it is quite the experience.
The cat has hair explosions and leaves a trail of hair.
We don’t even have a proper shedding season around here! We have tumbleweeds all over the house all year long!
I never thought of them as tumbleweeds, that’s cute.
Another shep on the web! Great to meet you! Arie, my White German Shepherd Dog, is a shedding machine. There’s hair everywhere, all year round. We just moved into a new rental that has hardwoods instead of carpets and I found myself thanking God for hair-proof flooring–So much easier!
We brush every other day as well to help stymie the constant presence of fur-clouds around the house, and I sweep daily and vacuum weekly. It’s a good workout to keep the fur at bay!
One can never have too many shepherd dogs and items, blogs included.
Our dogs blow their coats a couple times a year depending on the weather. Of course with 3 dogs, it seems like one is always blowing coat. I have brown fur bunnies.
We have had instances when the weather gets unusually warm and then the fur coat sheds only to get thicker a short time later and then shed again. The birds in the yard love all that fine soft hair as they use it in nest building. Thanks for your comment.
