Container Gardening and Water Gardens

Container Gardening

After Christmas while everyone else was shopping for deals on wrapping paper and next years presents, I tucked myself away in a used book store and browsed for the garden books. I came across the books Container Gardening For All Seasons and Water Gardens. I have plenty of ceramic pots and not really sure what to put in them. I’m the type of person that needs a recipe or instructions, whether in cooking, sewing, buying clothes, programming the DVD machine, learning a new computer program or planting a garden. If I know what I”m supposed to do especially in planting then I can get right to it and make beautiful creations and make sure my vegetables are planted in the right season.

The ceramic pots I have are small and large and the large ones can accommodate multiple plants. I look forward to seeing the creations I can make by combining tall and short plants with those of vines, palms, geraniums, coleus and many others. The possibilities for color are endless and all with a little help from a book.

Water gardens or backyard pond is something that I have always wanted in the yard, but with dogs there is no way that I could have had a water pond. Tasha would have played in the pond at all hours as she loved water. Max might be a little more careful to leave one alone.  It’s something I’ll have to try in 2015.
